Morning Juice - European Session Prep
Good Morning Traders! We finish the week off with a bang, with UK Retail Sales, among a myriad of ECB speakers.
Here is what to expect.
Sentiment
The amount of money the US government has available to pay its obligations dropped to its lowest level since 2021, creating a danger that, if the statutory debt limit isn't raised or suspended before then, the administration would run out of money by the beginning of next month.
Susan Collins, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, suggested that the US central bank may have already reached or be getting close to the point where it can stop raising interest rates.
Although policymakers and analysts disagree over the intensity of the trend, the Bank of Japan's prediction that price increases will moderate towards the autumn is supported by the fact that inflation in Tokyo declined in May.
Oil prices remained stable on Friday after dropping more than 3% on Thursday as investors monitored negotiations to avert a disastrous US default and Russia hinted OPEC+ wasn't expected to modify output levels at its next meeting.
