Oil tankers increase dark transits through the Strait of Hormuz - FT
- A growing number of ships are evading the Strait of Hormuz by a dangerous route near to Oman's shore, which maritime experts say could lead to a collision.
- According to two sources familiar with the transits, approximately 15 ships per day enter and exit through the Omani channel, which is secured by US air cover. The majority of these ships are oil tankers. Two other people corroborated the practice of taking the route with US aid.
