The recent labor market data show that job growth is comfortably coming in above breakeven and it has broadened to other sectors beyond education & health. Even though some of the recent rise is clouded by temporary factors like early World Cup hiring and seasonals. the labor market Is showing clear signs that It has bottomed out. It is starting to look closer to the solid consumer spending numbers in the economy, in line with our glass half full view (Exhibit 8).
