Dubai plans new port to bypass the Strait of Hormuz- FT
- DP World intends to create a new port and container terminal on the United Arab Emirates' east coast, reducing Dubai's reliance on its flagship Jebel Ali hub and bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.
- According to persons acquainted with the situation, the Dubai-based port operator is in talks to build a new multipurpose port in Fujairah's coastline area, as well as a new terminal at the existing harbour in the same emirate.
